The Leman Swine Conference, organized by the University of Minnesota, is the world’s largest annual educational event for the global swine industry with a rich 27-year history. It is well-known for bringing science-driven solutions to the complex challenges facing the industry. This year’s conference for the first time held in Xi’an, China, had received a positive and strong response from the industry. More than 650 international researchers, veterinary practitioners, manufactures of feed and veterinary medicine, consultants and technical managers of pork producers, consultants and investors as well as policy makers and experts in pork production systems gathered together.

This event allowed participants to introduce and discuss the latest developments on swine research and production, disease surveillance and control, integration of production and public health, and their impacts on the global economy to China which is the world’s biggest pork-producing country.

Michael Boddington, strongly engaged in agribusiness, was also participating in the conference having a possibility to develop a prominent expertise in the latest products and technological achievements in swine production, disease and production management which derives from the most recent theoretical and technical information and research. Furthermore, the conference provided AAC with interactive learning opportunities supported by discussion and case study with professional leaders which help to understand and adapt to the development needs in the current situation.
